Projects

Projects are the core organizational unit in BeatBandit. Each project contains your entire screenplay development process from initial concept to final script.

Creating a Project

New Project

  1. From your dashboard, click New Project
  2. Enter a project name
  3. Choose a template:
    • Movie - Feature film (90-120 pages)
    • TV Pilot - Television pilot (30-60 pages)
    • Short Film - Short format (5-30 pages)
  4. Click Create

Project Settings

Each project has customizable settings:

  • Title - Your screenplay title
  • Genre - Primary and secondary genres
  • Target Length - Desired page count
  • AI Model - Preferred AI assistant (Premium)
  • Collaborators - Team member access

Project Dashboard

Your project dashboard shows:

Progress Overview

  • Current stage
  • Completion percentage
  • Last modified date
  • Total word count

Quick Actions

  • Continue Writing - Jump to current stage
  • Export - Generate screenplay
  • Share - Invite collaborators
  • Settings - Project configuration

Activity Feed

  • Recent changes
  • AI suggestions used
  • Collaborator activity

Project Organization

Stages

Projects are organized into sequential stages:

  1. Logline - One-sentence summary
  2. Characters - Character development
  3. Treatment - Narrative outline
  4. Beat Sheet - Story structure
  5. Scenes - Scene-by-scene breakdown
  6. Screenplay - Final script

Cards

Within each stage, content is organized in cards:

  • Flexible content containers
  • Version history
  • Lock/unlock capability
  • AI enhancement options

Managing Projects

Duplicate a Project

  1. Open project menu (⋮)
  2. Select Duplicate
  3. Choose what to copy:
    • All content
    • Structure only
    • Specific stages
  4. Name the new project

Archive Projects

Keep your dashboard clean:

  1. Select project menu (⋮)
  2. Choose Archive
  3. Access archived projects from sidebar
  4. Restore anytime

Delete Projects

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone!

  1. Open project settings
  2. Scroll to Danger Zone
  3. Click Delete Project
  4. Type project name to confirm
